Kylan Rice is a poet, scholar, and editor. He is the author of An Image Not a Book (Parlor Press / Free Verse Editions, 2024) and Incryptions (Spuyten Duyvil, 2021) and co-author of Primer(Free Poetry, 2023), a collection of conversations with the poet Dan Beachy-Quick. His poems and creative prose can be found in Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Kenyon Review Online, Tupelo Quarterly, Quarterly West, andWest Branch, among other journals, and his peer-reviewed scholarship has appeared in ELH, Arizona Quarterly, Women's Studies, Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Studies, and CR: The New Centennial Review. He is the associate editor of the Missouri Review. In addition, he co-edited Southern Lights: Seventy-Five Years of the Carolina Quarterly (UNC Press, 2023), and with Lindsey Webb, he edits Thirdhand Books.
